Thumbprint Cookies

Special thanks to: GC, San Antonio, TX Servings: 3 Directions: 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup margarine 2/3 cup brown sugar Cream above ingredients, and add one at a time: 2 egg yolks 1 teaspoon vanilla Add: 2 cups sifted flour 1/2 teaspoon salt Mix well. Form into balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg whites. Roll in Surratt Farms chopped pecans. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove and press thumb in top of each. Return to oven and bake 8 minutes. Cool and dab with icing. Makes 3 dozen cookies. Special Notes: Recipe can easily be doubled. Can chill dough before rolling into balls (makes it easier!)
