Special thanks to: CN, maitland, MO Servings: 20 Directions: 1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup butter or oleo 2 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 well beaten eggs 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup chopped pecans Cream the shortening, oleo and sugar Add beaten eggs and stir Combine dry ingredients and add, beat till smooth Add pecans and stir Drop by teaspoons full onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or till golden brown Special Notes: These are crisp cookies that taste great with a cup of tea or coffee. Sometimes I roll them into logs and wrap them with wax paper and store in the refrigerator. I take the roll out and slice the cookies to bake for hot cookies anytime.
